The Bullseye Reviews

This place looks nothing like the pictures originally posted online. The property appeared poorly maintained, with only a basic clean carried out between stays. The issues we experienced were serious, ranging from basic amenities to safety concerns such as exposed wires. The property also still claims to have a washing machine, which it does not. Below is a list of issues we encountered during our stay Hot tub dirty inside and out Area around the hot tub falling apart Garden not maintained, with weeds and leftover rubbish scattered around Dog mess left in the garden Swing set run down and not very safe to use Kitchen dirty, with the kickboard falling down Lack of kitchen utensils Sink tap loose Fridge dirty Broken beds Broken blinds Dirty windows and blinds Walls in need of cleaning Bathroom dirty, including walls and grout, with a broken shower head Wardrobe locked and not usable Exposed wires Some plugs not working No cleaning equipment provided for use during the stay Virtual dartboard not working Overall, the condition of the property was very disappointing and did not meet expectations based on the listing.
After being worried due to negative reviews, our stay was very good. We had some issues which the house manager responded to immediately and were sorted within 24 hours. The house was very clean and comfortable. Some of the facilities didn't work or were broken and some areas could do with tlc. But overall we had a good stay. Sykes customer service is awful and I would not book through the company again. But this is separate to The Bullseye which is owner managed and can be booked via other websites.
The house could be really good it just lacked some facilities, no washing machine, iron and ironing board, broom or dustpan and brush to sweep the floor. Bedrooms were very comfortable, the kitchen is a great family area. The hot tub was good, shame the bamboo frame is falling apart and hanging down. Generally a good house just needs touching up.
Extremely Disappointing Stay Not As Advertised We booked this property expecting a special weekend away with fun facilities and a clean, welcoming environment. What we experienced instead was a poorly maintained house with numerous inaccuracies on the listing. While the space itself is large and the bedrooms are reasonably comfortable, the main appeal the advertised facilities were either broken, unsafe, or simply not present. I will be providing the host a full and detailed breakdown, but a summary is below. The hot tub was unusable until the final evening of our stay due to it being cold, lacking chemicals, and in disrepair faulty jets, no lighting, missing cover over the filters. The outdoor area was unkempt with overgrown weeds and dangerous and loose paving slabs. A BBQ and outdoor furniture for lounging on would be useful additions there is no outdoor seating other than the swing seats at the table. The gaming facilities were a disaster. Nearly every amenity was broken the electronic dartboard didnt work, table football was unusable, arcade machines were faulty, and the pool table was damaged and neglected. The games room toilet didnt flush, blinds were broken and hazardous, and the advertised geodome was completely missing. The kitchen was illequipped, missing basic essentials like oven gloves, serving bowls, and bin bags. Appliances were either broken or filthy the wine cooler heated up instead of cooling, the coffee machines didnt work, and the fridges water dispenser was dirty and unusable. General maintenance was severely lacking, with broken cupboard doors, seals on the patio door, and an overall feeling of uncleanliness. Bathrooms were similarly poor, with mould, leaks, missing toilet paper, and fixtures poorly fitted. The shower door over the bath leaked heavily, and the bath panel was awkwardly screwed in. Cleanliness was unacceptable. We found crumbs, crisps, hair in beds, and even someone elses charger behind a bed clearly not thoroughly cleaned between stays. Customer service was minimal delayed responses, no welcome pack, and poor communication. Important information was missing or on websites we couldnt get to QR codes didnt work. Most critically, the listing is misleading. The features advertised as available or in working order were not. We were promised an improved experience despite negative reviews, but they were unfortunately accurate. We cannot recommend this property, especially for those seeking a comfortable or premium experience. It is far from the quality that it is made out to be.
Totally horrified with this property and the owner, do not book very poor state and cleanliness, it was cleaner when we left. If you don't want to get ill don't use the hot tub!!!!!

Well, what an incredible place. We had a party of 19 visiting for a weekend to celebrate a special birthday, and this place did not disappoint. Our party ranged from 2 years to 60 years old and everyone was accommodated. The games room was ideal, keeping our young people entertained, and even the adults enjoyed the retro gaming and time in the jacuzzi. So much time and attention have been put into this place to provide an excellent experience. The hosts were very accommodating and avaialable all weekend we needed an electrician and they arranged a visit on the same day. The hosts sent the birthday woman a beautiful, wellthoughtout gift for her birthday. We had music throughout from the builtin spotify, and all essentials are provided, i.e. sugar, coffee, loo roll, which was an added surprise. We would like to thank the hosts for a splendid house and experience!
Lovely house, with an amazing kitchen. Great facilities for kids and parties. Needs some tlc in the bathroom , and the kerb presentation looking a bit shabby. Would have been a good idea to have a shower downstairs to go alongside a groundfloor bedroom, as this is a selling point for those who cant get up the stairs. But overall we had a nice time, thankyou.

The property was not really as advertised, the lack of washing machines for such a high capacity house was a pain even though it is advertised as such. The pictures also don't show that it is in the middle of a housing estate so having a birthday party and loud celebrations felt awkward as the night drew on. Overall alot of the facilities are in poor repair, the hot tub cover is damaged, the pool table annex is in a bad state, it needs some TLC and decorating to make it look nice again. Me and my family had a good time there but that was down to the company and not the property. There was no welcome pack with a guide on how to use the facilities that where there which was very frustrating. I would not stay here again or recommend it to a friend as it is way too rough, it was not properly cleaned before our arrival and we didn't feel it was advertised truthfully. The fact that it's called the bullseye but doesn't have a proper darts board is shocking, the one in the house isn't a real dart board and the plastic darts don't work and the one in the annex isnt fixed to the wall, it's on a wooden board leant against a wall, I mean come on. There was no attention to detail for the customer experience. Overall pretty poor experience held up by the fact it was a fun family get together, my advice book somewhere else as I will be doing in the future.
We had a great long weekend at the Bullseye. It was perfect for a multi generational group 7 80. The house was clean and welcoming. Great space for our family parties we were celebrating 2 birthdays. The games room and hot tub were in constant use, as were the gaming machines. We mainly self catered and did take a lot of equipment with us after reading previous reviews but in fact, there was plenty of pots and pans. Agree a couple of bowls would be useful and an oven glove! Good contact with owner, in response to queries and he even sent a delivery of desserts, which was much appreciated. We would definitely go again.

Do not book this property. The property is very dirty with stains on the carpets and sofas. No curtains in 2 of the rooms Mould in some rooms Lots of ingrained dirt in many areas feels like it need a complete deep clean yes I have many photos and videos to prove this. WiFi didnt work the owner rectified this very quickly but was aware before our arrival. The hot tub was broken and the chlorine so high it destroyed some swim wear. The dart board didnt work Heating in the games room Dont work so we couldnt use that. Indoor games room is very good. Spacious kitchen Decor is shabby mould and wall paper coming away from the wall in several places. Front slabs move and are a hazard. Some of our group left early because of the noncurtain aspect on the bedrooms. Comfy beds. Only 1 bathroom for the house and the water doesnt drain away in the shower which we had to deep clean before using. The en suite shower is tiny and not good. There is one downstairs toilet. The freezer was very dirty in the draws inside. We would recommend the owner spend time cleaning and maintaining the property as it doesnt look like the photos it has a lot of potential As it is big however it is now in need of repair and should not be rented out again until the long list of problems are rectified as it isnt fair to paying customers and we are not the only ones! We are trying to get this resolved as it really impacted our special occasion as was not as advertised or described. We have reported this to Sykes as it really isnt as it is portrayed in the photos and many features were not available during our stay.
No wifi, none of the TVs worked, coffee machine didn't work, the jets in the hot tub sprayed water everywhere but In the hot tub so the bubbles didn't work, the electric dart board didn't work, there were holes in the wall in the ensuite, the house felt quite. Run down and not maintained, I wouldn't recommend and I wouldn't stay here again

This is a fantastic house in a great location. Very comfortable stay and lots of space. The bar, pool table, arcade games and hot tub made the stay. Everything was decorated beautiful and very relaxing. Feedback to the host. We did let the host know the back door was catching and we couldnt use it. Also the main coffee machine didnt work so it would be useful to have a cafetire but that is just a suggestion. We loved the house and desperately want to come again! We had a great time.
We stayed here for a family 30th birthday party. The house was beautiful on arrival, very clean and well presented. The space is huge and perfect for what we needed it for. We had an issue getting the heating on which was actioned and sorted very quickly by the owner. The house in general does need a bit of attentionTLC. A radiator had come off the wall, some windowspatio doors with no blinds or curtains, walls needing a real freshen up from scuffs and dents. Theres no drawers in the bedrooms which isnt ideal when away for a week. Sofa beds are really only suitable for 1 person theres no way you could get 2 people on them. Kitchen has plenty cupsplatescutlery but there were a good few things that it didnt have which youd only really notice when cooking by which point its too late. Would also recommend bringing every single food item you need even down to saltpepperoil. No recycling facilities which isnt great with the amount of rubbish produced by 18 people. Towels are very small but luckily had bought some of our own. Overall, its not total luxury if thats what youre looking for. But we did have a lovely stay and would probably go back if it were for another large celebration gathering. The external games room really made the whole week and was great fun. Really good size. And the hot tub is huge!

We had a great time at the Bullseye. We wanted a preChristmas get together with all our family of varying ages. Its location wan't what we were expecting in the middle of a residential estate but provided everything we need to keep everyone entertained. When we had issues with the heating in the gardengames room the owner was quick to respond and even sent desserts as an apology. Thank You . I would recommend the owner getting a few more pots for the kitchen eg roasting pans, serving bowls, mixing bowl and jugs for saucesgravies. We has a great time thank you.
Kayleigh
We had an absolutely fantastic stay at The Bullseye in Stonehouse! From the moment we walked in, we were wowed by the stunning openplan kitchendiner, which was perfect for our family gathering. The kitchen was incredibly wellequipped. We loved the hot tub and spending hours in the games roomsuch a treat for all ages! Overall, The Bullseye exceeded our expectations, offering the perfect balance of luxury, comfort, and fun. We wouldnt hesitate to recommend this property to anyone looking for a memorable group getaway!

Unfortunately we didnt have the stay we had hoped for. We booked a few months in advance with the property listing as having a hot tub and washing machine. When we had arrived at the house and tried to use the hot tub we had noticed no electrics were working outside in the games room and the hot tub was also not working. We had communicated this with the owner who did attempt to resolve this by getting an electrician to visit however he was only able to resolve the games room electrics meaning the house which we booked for having a hot tub , was not usable. The electrician came back on our second day and still couldnt resolve the issue with the hot tub. He had said the owner mentioned to him it was a last minute booking and that the issues would take time to resolve. However this booking was not in fact last minute and I would have hoped as the owner knew these problems existed that they would have been rectified before we had our holiday. We booked this house specifically for the purpose of having a hot tub and this had ruined our stay. We also found that although listed, the property didnt have a washing machine which was disappointing for us for those needing it. We also had noticed quite a few exposed wires in the games room which we see as a potential risk. And in the downstairs room we were unable to have the main light on due to constant flickering which was sore on the eyes. I feel that this property needs some maintenance to ensure of a pleasant stay as the bathroom extractor fans were very noisy and quite a bit of mould in the upstairs bathroom. We were able to make use of the house however we would avoid it in future bookings as sadly the issues we had made the holiday we looked forward to to be quite disappointing.
Amazing home and stay. Thank you so much
Syedul
The property was beautiful, as described. Owners were quick to respond and helpful. We had a lovely time. There were plenty of beds and extra sofa beds, fantastic large hot tub, games and plenty of parking. We didn't have any problems and would highly recommend this property. Many thanks.
Safina
Such an amazing stay, the hosts were brilliant at keeping in touch and allowed early check in at late notice. The location is fantastic and the activities available made it so much fun for kids and adults alike. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this home.
