Corner House Reviews

We had a great stay at Corner House, the property is ideal for groups as it is clean and spacious with plenty of parking. It had everything we needed and had great views of the sunset
We were a group of 5 adults and 4 children of varying ages and the house served all our needs. It was beautifully decorated, especially at Christmas time. We had a small problem with the heating but Nick came to sort it out quickly. Very well equipped and a perfect location. Thanks for a great stay!
We loved the place as it was a great size of accommodation for our family as we waited for the completion of our house as we moved from the US back to the UK. During the process we extended the stay once which worked just great. The support staff were able to contact the owner. We then needed to extend again for the remaining 2 days that were available. We put in the request on the Saturday to extend the stay to include the following Tuesday & Wednesday nights. We confirmed with the support person that these dates were blocked for us while the owner was contacted. We were told the owner would be contacted to confirm booking. 24hrs then passed with nothing from the support staff. I then noticed that one of our dates had been booked. Tuesday morning comes and I asked again about getting a payment link and was told that they were sorry but they had been unable to reach the owner so we would have to checkout. This was at 9.50am with checkout at 10am. I explained that we had a family of 5 including 3 kids to get packed up and that it would not happen by 10am. The support person was totally unsupportive and unwilling to give any extended checkout time and kept stating that we have to be out by 10am and that we knew the rules. So due to the incompetence of the support people and system they have in place to contact owners we were essentially out on the street with all our belongings and with nowhere to go! As a result I would not recommend Sykes to anyone in the future. While the stay was great the support experience was totally horrible. The support people showed a total lack of caring and unwillingness to fix the problem.
Great accommodation with tons of room for the whole family. Excellent base to explore the Forest of Dean and surrounding area. Amazing views despite the poor weather for much of our stay. We did get one wonderful sunset on the last evening. Well equipped house with a welcome pack of wine and chocolate brownies. Close to centre of Cinderford for all amenities
Upon arrival there was baked goods from a bakery and a bottle of wine, such as lovely gesture. Lovely house, great accommodation, perfect for the nine of us from a two year old to an 80 year old, our family really enjoyed a very comfortable and homely stay. Will hopefully be back. We enjoyed walking in the forest, thank you.
Very comfortable house with everything youd need. We were a group of 4 cycling, so having a garage to store bikes was a plus. Nice sitting out area with comfy chairs that got sun most of the day and forest views. Some might find furnishings a bit old fashioned but we found everything to be absolutely fine. Beautiful area for cycling v hilly or walking, but Cinderford doesnt have much in the way of decent pubs or restaurants, Golden Lion or White Hart probably the best, but we tended to find somewhere on our way back such as the Rising Sun at Moseley Green.
Great accommodation which had everything we needed. Convenient for loads of attractions. Garden space was great for a BBQ.
This cottage is close to shops and restaurants and easily walkable. Cinderford is very centrally located for many attractions and we all had a very enjoyable break. The welcome pack was a nice touch and very much appreciated.
A great property in an excellent location with really good facilities and room sizes. Wonderful views of the Forest of Dean from the front of the house. Paul & Louise are good hosts and we really appreciated the welcome pack. I have no hesitation in recommending the house and its in a perfect location for exploring the Forest of Dean & the local walk to and from Linear Park is well worth doing.0
A great spacious house for our group to explore the local area. We received a warm welcome from the Golden Lion pub in Cinderford too
Andrew
A very welcoming property. The upstairs shower pressure was rather low. We were amused by the upside down wall light in the dining room. Not that anything could be done about the parking size area but manoeuvrability was awkward for larger cars. The size of the house was really good for a larger number of guests. The welcome pack was very much appreciated.
Cinderford is a quiet town on the edge of the forest. Every single person we encountered or even just said good morning to was kind and welcoming. We had a big group and were getting ready for a wedding the house has lots of rooms and bathrooms! I think some of the things in the house are just different than what we are used to that didnt make them wrong! Showers and water pressure are smaller but thats the fun of being away from home! There are views for miles and Forest of Dean was so close. Touring east takes an hour to most places on the other side of the river. We went to Westonbirt, Cotswold Villages and Stratford Upon Avon. Off street parking at the house was a huge win. Its worth a try!
Superb well equipped property, comfy chairs and beds. In 26 years of walking holidays with friends this house has topped the list. Not the best location but we enjoyed all the forest walks quite near by.
Settees were comfortable, but a bit too low for us and our friends all 70! ! Parking was good, but without the low walls would be even better!!
Property convenient for eating out and walking in the Forest of Dean. Very spacious and well equipped, lovely and clean on arrival. Plenty of parking spaces. Only negative issue wld be water pressure on electric shower could be better but wldnt put us off stopping there. Would recommend as a great place to stay!
Amazing weeks stay! Comfortable. Spacious. Clean. Beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook for 9 people. Lovely bakery down the road for breakfast treats! Very near the forest of Dean. We also visited Cardiff, Bath and Bristol. Great location!!!!
Angela
There were workmen next door to the property who were very loud in the mornings and we had to clear plaster, nails etc from the seating area and could not sit out during the day. The water pressure upstairs was very poor and for a couple of days we could not use the shower downstairs, this was rectified once we contacted the owner. Otherwise the property was fine, clean and well equiped
Beautiful property. Not enough comfortable seating for number of people staying. Kitchen very well equipped. Very little outside space and we were not able to use it as builders working on property next door had scaffolding over our seating area and every day we had to clean up nails and debris that they had dropped onto it. Fencing at front of seating area, not very secure and a drop of approx 6ft on the other side so extra care to be taken if children in your party. Despite not being able to use the outside seating area during the day, we had a good holiday and the owner was very attentive and always available for any issues.

We had a lovely weekend stay at the Corner House. The property is well maintained, clean and is well equipped. Close to local attractions, shops and facilities in Cinderford. A lovely surprising welcome pack was a nice touch as well.
Deceptively large. More than enough room for the 6 of us. Had all the necessary amenities for our stay. Very comfortable.
Great house. Very comfy and cosy.
Jennifer
This is a fabulous comfy and spacious 5 bedroomed property, ideal for families and friends to get together. 2 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and a further family bathroom. The house was immaculately clean and very well equipped. The host left a fabulous welcome gift of croissants' and wine. They also provided a very comprehensive folder of information about the house and the local area, this was very useful
Alizon
Clean, comfortable and very spacious. Well equipped, good bedding and plentiful towels. Lovely area and lots of information left by the owners of things to do in the area and recommendations for eating and shopping. We loved the house and would very happily return.
Lovely big comfy property. A tremendous amount of kitchendining equipment . Only problem really was the size and power of the shower units. The property itself shone out like a beacon in its surroundings.
Sandra
My friends and I found this lovely, clean and spacious house ideal for us. The 3 of us had lots of room to spread out! The owner, Paul, sorted out our only problem very quickly, thank you. Lots of interesting places to visit, especially Gloucester and its Cathedral and the wonderful Forest! Thank you for the welcome gift and I would definitely recommend this cottage and the area.
Caroline
The phone number I was given from Skye for contacting the owner was different to the one the owner had put in the book at the house. The message I sent twice to Skye regarding the EV charger being on and the king size bed being made up as separate wasn't passed onto the owner. It was a lovely, well equipped house
We had a wonderful weekend at the corner house. I had booked it for my mums 70th birthday but she didnt know that I would be coming with my family and my brother and his girlfriend were also coming. My mum had a lovely surprise when we turned up. The house is simply beautiful and very comfortable. A real home from home. Paul and Louise were very accommodating and left a beautiful welcome gift on arrival. Would absolutely recommend.
Jackie
Beautiful place , very clean and well equipped. Would definitely book again .
Andrea
Just spent a week here with all the family and had a great time the house is perfect for large families or 2 families wanting to holiday together it was very spacious and comfortable and a really good location for exploring the forest of dean. The owner and his family who lived in the house on site were very helpful and knowledgeable of the area. I would definitely recommend this property and would book again.
A very enjoyable stay. Thank you for the welcome pack
Elizabeth
Thanks for the welcome goodies! We had a very comfortable stay and were pleased to be able to invite family over for Sunday lunch without this breaking any rules. The kitchen was fairly well equipped but could do with the addition of a large deep roasting tin. Particularly enjoyable, was the balcony accessed from the lounge and overlooking the Forest of Dean. A nice, dog friendly, family oriented home and a great venue for multiple games of hide and seek.
Heather
Great accommodation clean and well maintained. Well stocked and amazing location
We had. Lovely family Christmas at the Corner house we loved the house it was comfortable and clean. We will recommend There were plenty of shops only 2mins drive and a cinema. We went on some nice walks in beautiful parks.. The landlord Paul came to meet us asked if we needed anything he was very nice..
A brilliant property, extremely comfortable, very clean, well equipped, the smallest detail has been thought of and we were greeted with a fantastic & very tasty welcome pack! Six of us from all over the UK needed somewhere to meet to have a board meeting but also a lovely weekend together and this was the perfect place and property! We all agreed the only negative thing was not being able to stay for longer! Thank you Paul and Louise for a fab stay!
Great property and well furnished throughout
