The Gables Reviews

Absolutely wonderful accommodation with everything to a high standard, exceptionally clean and comfortable. Thank you for the welcome pack. Lovely views from the kitchendinning room and bedrooms, further appreciated when relaxing in the hot tub. Lots of information also provided for walks and places to visit. Plus board gamesbooks available. Stroud is nearby for any provisions. Highly recommended.
Gables is an excellent accommodation! Very spacious and very well equipped! The owners thought of everything and had useful information and prompters around the house to make it easy and comfy staying there! It was very clean and easy to maintain whilst we were there too! Gables is in a superb location, very quiet area but so well placed for visiting all around you. Fabulous walks and the Butchers Arms was lovely too. We took our dog and she loved it as much as us! All in all we had an amazing stay!
Lovely accommodation in a beautiful setting, ideal for our Christmas break. The Christmas decorations added that extra special touch. The kitchen is very spacious and well equipped, lounge cosy and bedrooms spacious with good beds and bedding. Outside the garden was ideal for our dog to safely wander, with views of the lovely countryside. The Butchers Arms in the village provided a wonderful Christmas dinner for all of us, the staff were so welcoming.
We loved the house and its views and the hot tub! It was very comfortable and the owners had thought of everything, including maps and help with activities in the area, indoor games, books etc. We really enjoyed the area although the single track country roads gave us a bit of fun! Some of our party found the lack of any window covering at the top of the magnificent bedroom windows troublesome.
Sophie
We have absolutely loved our stay at the Gables. The property is great with absolutely beautiful views. Lisa was an amazing host who was very communicative and accommodating. We definitely hope to be back!
Annabel
Absolutely stunning house the photos on the website cannot do justice to the wonderful, lightfilled rooms and the amazing view from the kitchendining room. It is comfortably furnished and immaculately clean, and the owner was very responsive when we had a problem with the heating system. The owner also generously supplied a lovely 'welcome pack' for tea on our arrival, and there were fresh flowers in the hall. The house is perfectly located for a walking holiday the valleys nearby are steep but the scenery is fantastic. Excellent local pub The Butcher's Arms and the beautiful town of Painswick is very close and well worth visiting. Lovely to walk there and easier than driving through the narrow streets.

An amazing experience just what we hoped for and needed. The hosts were very accommodating to our needs. We would definitely stay here again!
Huisje is echt geweldig. Een absolute aanrader. Heerlijk comfortabel.
Our family had a wonderful break at The Gables, which is situated in a most delightful area of the Gloucestershire countryside. The house is extremely well appointed and certainly met the needs of our family needs of four adults and three children. The views from the rear of the house, looking over splendid countryside, surrounding the picturesque village of Sheepscombe were superb. Lisa, the owner of the house, was a very thoughtful host and ensured that that our stay was a memorable one. I would definitely recommend this property. Thank you Lisa and thank you Sykes Cottages for the smooth booking procedure

The Gables is a spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped property. The views from most of the rooms are amazing. It is well placed near some lovely footpaths .there is a great walk to Painswick with its interesting church with about 100 yew trees. The painswick Hotel does a lovely afternoon tea and some other lovely food. We celebrated our Golden Wedding Anniversary with the family here and it was perfect, highly recommend the Gables for family events

An excellent stay in an excellent property with stunning views. Thank you.
We are a family of 8 and spent half term Lancashire at the Gables. We had a great week. We haven't previously stayed in the Cotswolds, but will definitely return soon. The property was perfect for our needs, very comfortable, plenty of space, warm and the kind of place you look forward to returning to at the end of each day. Lisa, the owner, very contactable and helpful, approachable. The area is stupendous for views and sight seeing visits. We struggled initially with driving in the narrow lanes, but, minor issue and soon overcome once we got the hang.
What a lovely home with such outstanding views! The views are absolutely stunning and everything provided was fresh and spotlessly clean. We didnt want for anything! I like that the pots had been planted for a touch of Autumn colour it shows that the house is well cared for inside and out. Lisa was very accommodating and communicative throughout. We shall definitely be booking to stay again.
Lovely house with super views over the valley. Very clean and well equipped. Hot tub was a hit. Good base for exploring the Cotswolds.
Angela
The property was lovely, comfortable and it has gorgeous views from its raised position across the valley. It was exceptionally clean, has good facilities and is well presented. Communication on booking, arrival and throughout our stay was easy and helpful. Taller family members did have to watch out for low beams upstairs and eye masks were provided as very light in the bedrooms from the high windows. Neither of these detracted from a lovely property, we would happily go back. Thank you for our stay.
Most comfortable holiday let. Splendid views overlooking countryside Extremely well equipped in every department of our stay.Owners very helpful with information. Most enjoyable holiday had by all. Thank you.
Lindsay

Would certainly recommend.

The Gables is a really amazing property with the most fantastic views in a stunning location. Weve just spend a wonderful long weekend there together as a family and cant recommend it highly enough. Thank you so much!
Maggie
Had a lovely time at The Gables over Xmas. Very well equipped, immaculately clean and although quite a large house, still cosy and the views are amazing from most rooms. The hot tub was an absolute boon for drizzly and chilly late afternoons after a walk. There are nice walks from the house. The pub in the village was great. Owners are very attentive and left a lovely basket of goodies for us. Thank you.
